- Quite frankly, there are several posters who throw the same tired old lines, e.g. forced forgiveness, at adult children who have been abused. So it may be intended for more than one person.

- I can relate somewhat to experiencing the pain of losing a child to estrangement. I took care of my younger brother after school quite a bit. Making sure he got his homework done, watching him nights and evenings when my mom was out with friends or boyfriends.

- Unless the daughter consented to having her photos used like that, the mother, Dr. Coleman and Today are responsible for a gross invasion of her privacy. Trying to publicly shame her into having a relationship with her mother will make things worse.

- As for some of the parents claiming they couldn't have done anything wrong because they still have relationship with their other children, not necessarily so. Scapegoating, which is common in families where a parent has NPD can alienate the scapegoat to the point of estrangement. Here's a link:

thank you. i appreciate it. i still just can't believe she's done this. i mean i do not talk about her at all and now i have to. she will do anything...she's capable of anything. i really don't know what to do anymore. these ladies that have left really neg. things about me...they don't know me. they don't know her. i have no regrets about cutting her off from my life. i had to for myself and my then baby. there's no telling what would have become of us if i hadn't. i have peace now. i really just don't know what she's gonna do next.
